Enjoy your very own hosts to cook and cater all meals, plus a tailor made guided walk itinerary to suit the preferences of you and your guests. A truly unique, private experience in the beautiful Freycinet National Park.
Spending time outside with others is always therapeutic – that’s why we do what we do! However, we understand that sometimes the planning and logistics for group getaways can be testing (sometimes there’s one too many cooks in the kitchen!). That’s where we come in – spend quality time with friends and family in nature while we handle the logistics.
An all inclusive group package
Over your four-days adventuring with us, we take care of everything. Your package covers transport to and from Hobart (or the airport), accommodation, the itinerary, all food and beverages, gear and parks passes, and all of the day-to-day planning in between. We can even help you organise appropriate accommodation for your time in Hobart!
Have a sundowner (Tassie G&Ts are a favourite) on our bushside decks while our team prepare your evening meal, or slip down to the beach for a sunset dip before meandering back through the sheoak forests to your private room for a warm shower or bath. Tailored experiences
Would you like to experience a unique Tasmanian wilderness experience with your nearest and dearest? Whether it’s a special occasion, a group getaway or a family holiday, we’d love to host your private group. Friendly Beaches Lodge will be your very own private oasis in Freycinet National Park for the duration of the itinerary.
Our guides will be guided by you and can tailor the experience to your needs and preferences as well as ensuring you don’t miss all the best parts of the itinerary and surrounding area! Feeling adventurous? We can spend the day summiting the challenging trails of Mt Graham before wineglass dip. Need some down time, stay back at the lodge, enjoy Joan’s private library, take a tour of Joan’s collection of Tasmanian artworks, or wander Friendly Beaches at your own pace (being only 100 metres from your home base, this can be done with a coffee, book, or Tassie Pinot in hand!).

Groups joining our signature experiences can request a private sleeping lodge, providing you the option to share time by our communal fire place or in the library with others, or, back at your quarters in your private lounge space.

…Than the sanctuary that is The Friendly Beaches Lodge. To curl up together with a glass of delicious Tasmanian Pinot in front of the open fire or in the cosy library or snuggled under the warmest of doonas is the perfect tonic after a day exploring. When the beauty of the splendid Friendly Beaches beckons (which is all of 100m away), there’s always 7km of pristine white sand to wander- often with no other souls in sight- human anyway. You may see a bounty of bird life on the nearby lagoon and spot playful dolphins catching waves- and there’s always the possibility of a resident marsupial to lure the family into a bush ramble. The lodge feels like home- earthy, warm timbers that ooze charm and style.
Wide windows from which to contemplate the remote and timeless wilderness, roofs of tin that remind you of the weather, shared spaces that invite togetherness , and the welcoming sleeping cabins where one can retreat for a lingering bath- or another chapter of that book from the well-stocked library that’s just too hard to put down! All on the doorstep of the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula with its array of hiking tracks, granite peaks and pristine beaches should you feel the desire to wander further...but then there’s always the fire, this time over a pot of tea and scrumptious cake that’s just out of the oven. There’s no reason to go hungry here - your lodge hosts have access to the bounty of Tasmanian produce and a well-equipped kitchen to lovingly cook up a feast for everyone. The rustic candlelit table invites long lingering over shared platters, more great wine and elegantly relaxed ambience. A sojourn at this place with your family and friends will refresh you - and you will leave wanting to return.
